User Flow Enhancement Subway Station via AR Prototyping
Project type
User Research & Prototyping
Date
2020
Location
Hamburg
Critical Question:
How can we improve user flow and experience in a new subway station by leveraging user research and AR prototyping with Microsoft HoloLens?
Project Scope:
In my role, I led the user experience development for a new subway station. The project was based on extensive user research to understand commuter behaviors and needs. Utilizing this data, I visualized and tested various design concepts through a native-built Augmented Reality (AR) application using Microsoft HoloLens. This innovative approach enabled real-time adjustments and accurate simulations of user interactions within the station environment.
Impact:
The AR prototype significantly enhanced the user flow and overall design of the subway station. The project also resulted in a 50% reduction in research and development (R&D) time, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of using AR technology for large-scale infrastructure projects. This initiative set a new standard for future developments and showcased the potential of AR in urban planning and design.
